Insurance Options

Generally most insurance policies specifically exclude cover for goods in transit during your household removal. Whilst our removal rates quoted to you do not include any insurance cover we can provide you with several insurance options. Below are the two standard insurance options we can offer, please give us a call with any queries you may have.

Option 1

Declared Value
You have full cover up to the amount specified in the removal contract. An excess of $200.00 applies.

Premium
1.3% (+ GST) of amount insured e.g. an average 3 bedroom home would be approximately $60,000 to $70,000 value requiring a premium of $877.50 to $1023.75 inclusive of GST.

Option 2

Limited Carriers Risk
You have cover up to a maximum of $1500.00 per item or set of goods e.g. a dining suite of 1 table & 4 chairs would comprise 1 set of goods. An excess of $400.00 applies.

Premium
Typically an average 3 bedroom home would require a premium of approximately $120.00 to $140.00 inclusive of GST.

Exclusion

Items excluded from insurance cover are goods and cartons not packed by Don Woods Relocations; cash, bonds, jewellery, poisons, inflammable goods, perishable goods, electrical or electronic or mechanical derangement.

Note - insurance selected must be for the full value of the household contents to avoid “averaging.” In the event of a claim the amount paid out under the policy could be reduced in proportion to the amount insured compared to the total value.
